Within the framework of poesiefestival berlin, the listening sesssion braids a collection of drone and harmonic soundscapes inviting the audience as the body of listeners to actively listen to the work in a live quadraphonic setup. The poesiefestival berlin is a project of the Haus für Poesie. The event takes place in exchange with the exhibition and reading program Wor(l)ding Dreamers of the Galerie im Turm.
Before the Rāga Comes the Drone

"Before the Rāga Comes the Drone" is an exploration of sound and form through a listening study of the drone phenomenon, utilizing age-old acoustic instruments. Presented within an 8-channel spatial sound setup, the piece thoughtfully distributes harmonic layers, inviting listeners to experience a sense of depth and dimensionality between different frequencies and overtones more clearly. The work is supported by the Berlin Senate as part of the Fellowship Program Weltoffenes Berlin.
Your Listening is a Paracosm

‘Your Listening is a Paracosm’ shifts perceptual perspectives through sound and ritual, drawings, and prompts. It unfolds as an experiment for the web and simultaneously permeates through radio transmissions. Each piece is a poetic listening score to explore sound as an expression of consciousness. Is it alive — Sono Sensing

Is it alive is a speculative listening and thought experiment based on sound, life, and electromagnetic induction. It explores the potential for sound to influence both the external environment, and of the relation(s) between sound, and the concept of a soul. Presented as part of the group exhibition Ich spüre was, was du nicht spürst at Hilbertraum, Berlin.
Diasporic Listening to Berlin’s Soundscape

In this radio show, I participated in a collective listening to recorded Berlin soundscapes and engaged in a discussion about how experiences of migration inform the way we listen to the city. As a result of this exchange, together with the workshop’s facilitator – Yara Mekawei – the participants produced a collective work to be broadcasted on Cashmere Radio, FM 88.4 MHz Berlin, and 90.7 Potsdam.
